Disappearing Trades
Through our work, we aim to preserve the collective memory of trades once commonly practised by the people of Łętownia and the surrounding region. Blacksmithing, carpentry and farming were the foundation of village life.
So far, we have made two short documentaries devoted to blacksmithing and carpentry. They are intended as brief insights into these trades rather than comprehensive guides. Introducing the people who practise them is equally important to us.
The films also have considerable linguistic value: they preserve Łętownia’s distinctive dialect, especially its vocabulary relating to these disappearing occupations.
The films premiered in Łętownia on 23 March 2025.
